I tend to sew the petals, or parts of the flower, stems, and leaves all in one sitting – which is what I did in this case.  Another reminder why sometimes it’s good to step back and take a look periodically.  I hope that one really long petal isn’t as obvious when this quilt is finished as it looks in this picture.

The good news is that in real life, petals aren’t usually perfectly the same length.
