Wow, and like that we’re already 60% through the Bloom quilt. I think I mentioned last week that I traced around the Pellon, sewed it to the individual shapes and basted those onto the background fabric before I left for the weekend.
I was 35,000 feet in the air on the way to my destination when I was done and on to the next project – I’ll write more about that later this week.
That means I should complete row 4 the first week of May and the last row the end of May. I’ll likely spend June completing the sashing, border, basting and then quilting.
Every week when I finish a block, I think about what I plan to do for the quilting. My first idea is to echo each flower about 1/4″ . Some blocks have more white space than other, but to keep a consistent look I probably won’t quilt extra in those areas.
The big question is what am I going to quilt on the sashing? So far I’m coming up with a blank.
I’ve downloaded the pattern for the April block from Leah Day so I’ll start on that either this evening or tomorrow.
Wow, the quilt is going to be beautiful!
A friend asked if I wanted to do it since she was. I’m so glad she suggested it; the pattern and fabrics are so cheerful!
Very cute block
Thanks!
Can’t wait to see what you do!
I should probably ask Lori Holt if she has any suggestions. It might end up as a hodge podge if left to my own devices!
Hi, it’s Cindy from Gray Barn Designs. This quilt is so cute! I love your fabrics!
Thank you so much! Lori Holt designed not just the pattern, and the templates to make the quilt but she also designed all the fabric.
