the edge of Elvis

I’m working on the border of Elvis and that can only mean one thing – I am nearing the end of the quilting!  I should have this done sometime today then I’ll get the binding on sometime this weekend.

And then…a month with my scissors to snip all the loose threads that inevitably come out of nowhere.

I’m just looking forward to seeing Elvis!

    1. I’m ready to show it, but I’m not sure if the recipient reads my blog so I’ll have to wait until after I’ve given it away so I don’t spoil the surprise.

  2. I think you could have a post just about loose threads. I think they are some sort of supernatural conspiracy. I KNOW I checked the quilt for loose threads while working on it or quilting it…but…a day or so later they appear from nowhere!

    1. That’s an idea! I definitely could do an entire post on them. Let’s see – there are piecing threads and quilting threads. Binding threads and if you’re paper piecing then there are threads on top of threads!

  3. Snipping, one of my least favorite jobs! Just finished snipping a quilt this morning, have fun!

    1. Same here! It’s an impossible task on a 10×10′ quilt. I’m sure I’ll miss some along the way.

  4. I know that snipping job. Where do those threads come from anyway?

    1. I have a theory that they are actually from all the lost mismatched socks who sneak out of my dryer and into my sewing room. It’s the “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane” of threads!

      1. Yes, just like lost socks!
