If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all was the theme of the day yesterday. An unexpected dead car battery – and my jumper cables were in the daughter’s car; forgot that I completely out of the specific interfacing I’m using for the Bloom block so it was dinner time before I could borrow a car to go buy more; dogs decided to go for a stroll around the neighborhood and I spent the evening looking for them. There’s more, but you get the idea… It was a Monday – what can I say!
The hand sewing isn’t done on this block and obviously there’s no sashing yet so I thought maybe if I pinned it as a half-finished project to my stand, it would dress it up a bit!
On a positive note, I did finally get the interfacing and the very nice woman behind the cutitng counter day asked how my day was going which led to a great conversation. I did also get the pieces cut out, stitched, and glue basted on. I also got part of the outer sashing sewed finally even if it’s not attached yet. The car should be fixed sometime today, the dogs are back home and I have a roof over my head and food in the fridge!
Love how things do get some perspective when viewed from a bit of a distance (I’m not good at all at the “stepping back” part!!!!!). Love the stitching!!!!

You’re wise to count your blessings. There’s something good about every day, even the ones we first think are bad days. The next day can only be better.
That is so true; my brother passed away earlier this year and I’ve spent so much time thinking about how blessed I was to have him as a brother for so many years. He was such a role model, and will be for years to come.
We have to appreciate every day we’re given. I’m sorry about your brother, but it sounds like you were very lucky to have him in your life for a long time.

Yes! I was walking close to a mile this morning to go pick up my car. I was amazed how easy it was to see evidence of goodness everywhere on my walk.
