This is just a snapshot, but if anyone is interested in paper piecing today’s block for the Splendid Sampler, drop me a note and I’ll happily send the templates for portions of the block shown first here, as well as the finished block to sew together. One nice thing about EQ7 is I can take a snapshot of the block from the PDF, drop it into EQ7 and trace around the lines. From there, I can print out the templates for individual pieces with the quarter inch seam included, or grouped pieces – both of which are shown here.
Oh, and that bottom right-hand piece (and any other pieces) can be moved to a second page so that it fits together as one piece instead of being cut off like shown here. The great thing about paper piecing in EQ7 is it figures out the most logical order to sew the pieces together and pre-prints A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, etc. – and if you have another way you want to do it, you can override their suggestions.
But I can also print out the finished block to make it easy to paper piece this week’s block for instance. I’m going to give it a go this way and see if this is easier than following the directions included.
I’ll see how far I get on this by the end of the day!
