Let me count the ways I love this block! Geometry was one of my favorite classes in high school – I like the preciseness of the angles, and how if you change one thing there is an equal and opposite reaction to it.
And after looking at my blocks, I was also looking for more traditional patchwork patterns to get some of the darker colors back in. In trying to get a lot of contrast, I’ve been putting in a lot of eggshell, ivory, cream, pale grey and so forth. A block that has a variety of darker colors will not only make those stand out, but this block stands on itself very well.
Love the light/dark balance!!!!!!
Refreshing to have a simple block today! I love the little dress last week but I don’t spend as much time on my own wardrobe as I did on that 6″ dress!
Truer words were never spoken! My wardrobe is about as casual as it gets. I had this block done, start to finish, in 30 minutes.
The sampler is looking so yummy! I want to do it to (just too many other things to work on!)
I know the feeling! I have been sewing again on the hunters star quilt that I began last month, and I’m behind on a few other things. I’m glad this isn’t my day job or I’d have to fire myself!

I’d like to get really productive and either finish half of the hunters star thus weekend, or finally finish the stained glass quilt. Given the rain, I should be able to do at least one of those!
haha, you finished today’s block pretty quick and the darker shades really look great! I love seeing all your blocks together – I really need to pull mine out and take some pics!
I would love to see yours all together! Funny thing is, my original intent was to keep them all in a box so they wouldn’t get dirty, etc. but my collection on the wall just keeps getting bigger instead.
Oh I keep meaning to ask you this….I am surely missing something obvious but I promise you – I can not find the comment box for your posts! I wanted to write something back the other day about the charity quilts (love it!) and the backing on the one you posted today (awesome) and remark on the fabulous label you had on it. I really need to figure that out so you don’t think I’m ignoring you!
