I’ve been sewing these 4 at a time because that’s what makes up a 12″ block. I think I’ll start saying 16 units finished – to give myself more credit – and then say 21 blocks to go – instead of 84 units. That just sounds like a lot when I put it that way!
The sashing is nice big 3″ strips and it’s the purple center block that pulls the secondary pattern together. I was afraid that the lighter green might have too much yellow in it but now that I have a few out of the way, I think it was the right one to use. This makes each piece of the block really stand out.
So…that’s really all I’ve done this week! I said it took about 2 hours for each block and that was just a guess but I think it’s surely more now that I think about it.
Oh and a nephew said he liked his sister’s quilt so I might work on one for him for Christmas and not a second teacher one. I will probably wait until I’m farther down the road on this one and see if he would be interested in a Libs Elliott pattern.
These blocks are really beautiful! The color combination is really inspired, too!
Thank you!
A 12 inch block, wow that is quite a piece job, the secondary pattern is going to balance evenly with the blue I think. It will be wonderful.
Very pretty color combo!
Thank you!
The blocks look stunning. The colors work beautifully too.
Thank you! It’s always a bit of a mystery until I see the real pattern emerge.
