‘Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’
I took one look at today’s block and let out a “woo hoo!”. It’s a beginner’s paper piecing block. I could probably knock this one out in 10 minutes!
Except I didn’t catch that I had a piece of fabric that didn’t lay flat when I sewed it and that’s never a good thing with paper piecing because once the paper has been perforated, well…
That is generally going to lead to this next situation. I could’ve just printed out another copy but I was on a quest. Undeterred, I just moved my sewing line over a little bit and created a new one which worked since I had some extra seam allowance built in.
I decided that I’m so used to sewing with those teeny tiny pieces that sometimes those are easier than these great big 2″ pieces of fabric. Or something like that.
But wait! There’s more! Suddenly the seemingly easy peasy block took a bit more time than I thought because then this happened.
So it finally took maybe 15 or 20 minutes but I did in fact finish this block in the course of a lunch hour, not that you’d know it by the previous pictures.
I’m glad I’m caught up!
I love that you blog about “real quilting” — my kind of quilting that is 😉
Some days are like that.
