Block 19 – Measure Twice, Cut Once

I was so busy making the 19th block of the Splendid Sampler that I didn’t take pictures along the way. I thought to myself as I was piecing it how much easier it is to cut 1.5″ x 1″ pieces than it was just a month ago.  I picked fabric that was really too much of a contrast for the back side of the tape measure but I think the overall design is apparent.

Solvy water soluble stabilizer has been invaluable for the blocks that have embroidery on them, and this block was no exception. It’s as quick as printing the design onto the stabilizer and then peeling it off and adhering it to the fabric.

You did a great job! I keep finding ways that I don’t have to do the embroidery. (Not a fan)

    1. I like patchwork best, followed by applique. I like the way embroidery looks but the people who used the Moda fabric that looks like a tape measure, or sewed in a real one, were the smart ones of the bunch. That took me a *lot* longer to do that tape measure than I thought it would.
