You know you’re in Texas when…

I was gone somewhere every night this past week so I’ve been playing catchup today on sewing the quilt top that I’m working on. The friend that I’m making this for had asked if I could put a few things in the white diamonds – I think she eventually ended up with about 10 things which is nice.  It’s not too crowded but not too sparse. She had asked me to include a cross, her late husband’s nickname, his confirmation verse and a handful of words that described him.  I am trying to get this done by the end of the weekend so that I can take it to our bee later this week.

When I had given her prompts for ideas, one was “a place that the two of you frequented which brings back happy memories”.  And sure enough, she thought of one.  I have to agree with her; few things compare to the joy of a trip to  Whataburger!

It took the better part of an afternoon to get all the embroidery done but I think I’m almost ready to start sewing the rows together.  I might get this done in time after all. Whew!
