Looks can be deceiving. This is a 6 inch block, part of the Pat Sloan mystery sampler quilt along. If you break that down, there are 6 x 6 blocks within that. In other words, the largest finished piece in here is just one inch square!
This is block 2 and I did think for a minute while working on it that if I doubled every pattern in this sampler, it would be a lot easier. As tempting as that would be, it defeats the purpose of learning to sew such small pieces. Sometimes it’s nice to just zip through a project and declare it “finished!” but for me, the interest was in using some new techniques or in some cases, some things that I haven’t done since I was a child.
I admit it though; I just didn’t see real butterflies in my version so I skipped the antennae that was called for in the pattern.
