I have a habit, at least on patchwork, of quilting in cursive either words or phrases. I forget what all I “wrote” on my daughter’s quilt but it included her name, the year I made it; I had a house and trees and a little family that I stitched into it; there were hearts and circles and I’m not sure what all by the time I was done.
Since the Bargello is in the shape of a heart and I wanted to stitch in the white space, I wrote the word “love” in each square around the main part of the design. Then in the far corners of the quilt, I stitched “love never fails”.
